Age of Warring Empire Guide / New Player AOWE Guide
I will add to this Guide when time allows me to do so, but here is a simple guide with some notes for new players to have some guidance.
SCOUTING
Scouting allows you to see how many troops are currently stationed at a City, Wilderness or Stronghold, so that you can plan your attak accordingly. Copper Coins are used to pay for Scouting, however the cost varies
SERVERS
You can change servers by going to Settings >> Account >> Change Server. Different servers have different playing styles, with newer servers enjoying faster production, whereas older servers put more emphasis on strategy. However if you wish to change server, your progress will be reset, and your items will be lost. Therefore it is recommended that you find a server you like, or have a friend invite you to their server, before you build your empire.
BUILDINGS
In your City you will find many buildings, each with their own purpose.
•Resource Buildings: the farm, sawmill, iron mine and quarry are your resource buildings, and will continually produce the resources necessary to upgrade your buildings and train your troops.
•Barracks: this is where you can train and upgrade your troops
•City Hall: the city hall affects your maximum population, and the speed at which you acquire idle population
•Market: this is where you can sell resources for silver coins that you can use to buy materials to make equipment
•Technology: this is where you can conduct research to increase your resource production rate.
•Warehouse: the higher the level of your Warehouse, the more resources you can store
•Arena: in the arena, you can fight other players in order to climb through the ranks and earn special prizes
•Tower: the best place to level your hero, as each stage increases in difficulty, as well as the experience it rewards.
•Lottery: everyday you will get one free chance at the lottery. You can also pay gold coins to get additional chances, or to try your luck at the Advanced Lottery (NOTE: Advanced Lottery chances of winning good prize are extremely bad)
•Wall: the wall is your cities main defense, and must be well fortified in order to protect your city. You can place troops on the wall, or create fortifications to further improve its defense. (The higher the wall level the more troops will be resurrected if killed defending)
POPULATION
Population acts like a 5th resource as it is required to upgrade buildings and train troops. Your maximum population limit and the output is decided by the level of your City Hall, with higher levels having higher limits and outputs.
You can see your current Maximum Population, Employed Population, Idle Population and how much new population you gain per hour in the City Hall screen.
When using a Troops Replenishment Card, you will receive the full amount of troops regardless of your current idle population
NEGATIVE POPULATION
Sometimes when you use a Troops Replenishment Card, you may find that your population has become negative. When this happens, you will not be able to build ot train, however your population will begin returning to normal if you upgrade your City Hall, or if the new troops die. This is because the Troops Replenishment Card has pushed you over your Population limit.
MOVING CITY
You can move your city onto a clear piece of land on the World Map, however it will cost 50 gold coins.
WILDERNESS
Wildernesses are points on the World Map that can be occupied by players in order to gain additional resources. Wildernesses will often have NPC units occupying them if there is no player currently occupying.
There is a limit to the number of Wildernesses you can hold at one time, with this limit increasing when you reach certain levels. You can see your current Wildernesses and your cap, in the Monarch window, by pressing on your level in the home screen.
Wildernesses will produce additional resources for your city, with the resource type being defined by the wilderness type. The wilderness types are: Stone Ore, (Stone), Iron Ore (Iron), Farmland (Food), and Forest (Wood). The amount of resource produced scales with the Wilderness’s level
1. Do Daily Tasks! (The Scroll Icon on the top left)
At first they will be almost impossible to accomplish but very soon you will be able to do them with ease.
UPGRADING CHART:
This method is best used to get your city leveled up with the rewards given for completing upgrades. Eventually this will become impractical and you will focus your upgrades on specific buildings. If you are a just starting I have found that this is the best method of getting your city to level 6 or so within a day and the best part is that the resources used to perform the upgrades are from the rewards you receive for upgrading in this cycle.
SIDE NOTE: I suggest performing the upgrades on the outer ring then upgrading your City Hall and Warehouse to level 3 or 4 then resuming the cycle. If you do not upgrade your City Hall and Warehouse you will quickly run out of population as the City Hall will not produce enough population to support this method without being several levels ahead of the other buildings.
Follow These Steps For An Easy Level 5 City
- Start with the outer ring and upgrade Sawmill 1 - Warehouse clockwise as shown in the chart.
-Once you have completed the outer cycle start working on the inner circle upgrades clockwise (i.e. complete only Sawmill upgrade 2, 3, 4 do not upgrade Sawmill 1.
-You can collect your reward as it appears in the "Mission" window (you will see a green circle indicating a reward is available for collection).
-Repeat the cycle.
Now back to the rest of the Guide
2. When doing the tower, Fight the bosses. Meaning as soon as you find the bosses kill them.
You will get the prestige and resources that a regular battle won't give you.
3. If you are trying to gain levels on your Generals/Heroes - picture 5 level 10 in tower is the best level for this.
x.10 on each level offer more prestige then the other levels. and Level 5.10 has a boss with no special attack skill.
don't hesitate to do levels over that you have already done. If you get stuck on a boss go back a level or two and get the experience.
4. Use all that stamina! Stamina replenishes with time, it doesn't accumulate past your allotted amount. You will lose any stamina not used!
5. When doing the Arena attack right then left until you find someone you can beat. You will gain in the arena faster this way.
6. Do the Athena event (Located in the gift icon on the bottom left- than the girl's face icon, 5th icon on the bottom row)
Do this event three times a day! this will get you copper coins as well as green equipment to give you an edge.
7. Make sure to check on your Achievements at least once a day! (Located in the gift icon on the bottom left- than the "Daily" icon, 3rd icon on bottom row)
there are several of the achievements that only count up to when you collect then start the counter over and that could mean big losses in Prestige for you!
8. Check into Alliance Chat (ac) when you can see if anyone needs help.
(It's good to join an alliance or create one for resource bonuses)
9. If you are being farmed by a player who you have no hope defending against dump all the resources you can into the alliance contribution. If you have copper coins above your protected limit (listed on your lords page) do the fast gem explore (bottom of gem page) to get rid of it. In this way the player will get bored of the effort and you didn't give them any resources but helped the alliance out a great deal as well as got some good gems.
if this doesn't make a player back off look for an ally near by. Reinforcing helps very very little if at all. It costs 6k copper to reinforce 5% which isn't very much for the cost.
10. Make sure you have your fortifications built. Don't leave gaps in your fortifications, evenly distribute them.
11. Keep your extra heroes on the wall with 1 catapult each. These troops will be immortal due to the resurrection effects of the wall. This way you will get at least 1 prestige per attack as well as do a little bit of damage at least.
Training seems to be offering the best experience for the heros. So yes it is worth it!
12. Enhancing heros is a bit more iffy, if you plan on rebirthing the hero at some point don't enhance it. The enhancements will vanish with a rebirth.
13. Equipment is a crucial part of the game it greatly adds to your attack and defense. Don't forget to upgrade it often. Market prices are more then double what it costs to farm the resources in the tower.
14. Resource tiles are a must! Your lords level determines how many wilds and strongholds you can have at any given time.
Doing the Mission tasks is also a great way to gain prestige to help you level up.
